VAEYI Technology Co., Ltd. officially unveiled its BL series diamond fiber cleaving blades, consisting of two models: BL-101 and BL-301. The BL-101 is engineered to replace Thorlabs/Vytran ACL83 blades, while the BL-301 serves as a drop-in substitute for Fujikura CB-06A blades. Both variants adopt identical diamond material as OEM counterparts, feature fully compatible one-to-one mounting dimensions for direct replacement, and are priced at merely 50% to 60% of original branded products.
This launch marks a breakthrough in ending the long-standing reliance on imported cleaving blade consumables within China’s fiber processing industry.
The BL-101 is a compatible consumable tailor-made for Thorlabs Vytran ACL83 diamond blades, a classic staple widely deployed in fiber laser manufacturing, fiber optic sensing, and scientific research. It fits 13 equipment lines including LDC-200/400/400A, LDC-401/401A, LDC-450B, CAC-400/400A, GPX-3800/3850/3900 and FFS-2001 series.
Boasting a 2.0 mm cutting edge, the BL-101 features a diamond tip, stainless steel base and tapered circular shank design. Each single cutting position delivers approximately 5,000 cleaves, with 9–10 switchable positions for a total service life of around 50,000 cleaves, fully matching the performance specifications of the ACL83. The ACL83 carries a tax-in retail price of roughly CNY 6,784 in China, whereas the BL-101 is priced at CNY 3,400–4,070, equivalent to 50–60% of the OEM cost.
The BL-301 is developed as a compatible alternative to Fujikura CB-06A diamond blades. Fujikura CT-series large-core fiber cleavers are mainstream equipment adopted across fiber laser production lines, research institutes, submarine cable projects and optical component packaging factories nationwide. Every generation of the CT lineup—from the 2014 debut CT-101/102/104/105/106, upgraded CT-104+/105+/106+, to the latest 2023 CT-110/111/114/115/116—utilizes the CB-06A blade.
The CB-06A is an upgraded material variant of the original CB-06 model, capable of around 200,000 cleaves for 250 μm coated fiber, with a distributor reference price of CNY 3,500. Constructed with identical diamond material, the BL-301 shares fully matching mounting methods and dimensional standards with the CB-06A, enabling direct replacement without equipment readjustment. Its suggested retail price ranges from CNY 1,750 to 2,100, only 50–60% of the OEM blade price.
Fiber cleaving blades are core consumables critical to fiber splicing and end-face preparation workflows. While cleaver hardware can remain operational for up to a decade, blades require periodic replacement: production lines for fiber lasers typically swap blades every 1–3 months, and research laboratories every 3–6 months.
For years, the high-end fiber cleaving blade market has been dominated by US-based Thorlabs and Japan’s Fujikura, leaving domestic users with two major pain points: exorbitant pricing, with single blades costing several thousand yuan, and lengthy lead times, often exceeding two weeks for imported stock deliveries.
VAEYI Technology prioritized consumables over complete equipment for a straightforward reason: existing customers already own Fujikura and Vytran cleavers, and their core demand lies in affordable, readily available replacement blades rather than investing in brand-new hardware. The BL series allows users to maintain their current equipment while accessing equal-quality diamond blades at a far lower cost.
Both BL-101 and BL-301 are stocked domestically for bulk orders. Customers receive product inspection upon delivery; defective units resulting from manufacturing flaws qualify for free exchange. The company also provides consultation services for cleaving parameter tuning, and volume clients may sign annual framework supply agreements.
