    VAEYI Technology officially announces the release of the FA8000 PON Network Line Comprehensive Tester. Designed for fiber optic network deployment, maintenance, and fault diagnosis, the FA8000 delivers a class-leading 45 dB dynamic range that penetrates 1×128 splitters for full-link PON testing — resolving the long-standing industry challenge of "can't see past the splitter, can't find the fault point."

45 dB Dynamic Range: Penetrating 1×128 Splitters for Full-Visibility PON Testing

In the tree-topology of PON networks, splitters progressively divide the optical signal. Conventional OTDRs, typically offering around 30 dB dynamic range, cannot deliver sufficient signal beyond a 1×32 splitter to reach the subscriber end. The FA8000 achieves 44 dB dynamic range at 1550 nm, 34 dB at 1310 nm, and up to 42 dB at the 1625 nm in-service monitoring wavelength with filtering — more than 10 dB above mainstream mid-range instruments — enabling direct penetration through 1×128 splitters for full-link visibility across the entire PON network.

Dynamic range is specified under standard industry conditions: 200 km measurement range, 20480 ns maximum pulse width, and 3-minute averaging time.

Five-in-One Integration: One Device Covers the Entire PON Maintenance Workflow

The FA8000 consolidates five core functions into a single instrument:

·       OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer): Triple-wavelength 1310/1550/1625 nm, 1.2 m event dead zone, 6 m attenuation dead zone, 0.3–200 km measurement range, 64K sampling points, FTTx mode and Smart Link one-key testing

·       VFL (Visual Fault Locator): 650 nm visible red light, output power ≥5 mW, visual fault location up to 3 km

·       OPM (Optical Power Meter): Dual calibrated wavelengths at 1310/1550 nm, measurement range −40 to 0 dBm, accuracy ±0.02 dB

Field technicians no longer need to carry multiple instruments — a single FA8000 covers the full maintenance workflow from link testing and power measurement to end-face inspection.

FTTx Mode + Smart Link: Lowering the Barrier to PON Maintenance

The FA8000 features a dedicated FTTx mode for PON network maintenance scenarios. The instrument automatically identifies splitter port counts (1×4 through 1×128) and presents the link structure and loss distribution in an intuitive graphical display. The Smart Link function enables one-key operation — no manual configuration of wavelength, pulse width, or other parameters is required. The instrument automatically completes the measurement and outputs a graphical Pass/Fail result, significantly reducing the operational threshold and shortening fault localization time.

The 1625 nm in-service monitoring wavelength operates independently of PON service wavelengths (1310 nm upstream / 1550 nm downstream), enabling link testing without service interruption — ideal for in-service maintenance scenarios.

High-Precision Measurement: Meeting Construction Acceptance Standards

The FA8000 delivers industry-leading measurement precision: loss threshold 0.05 dB, loss resolution 0.001 dB, linearity ±0.05 dB/dB, and distance uncertainty ±(1 m + 2.5×10⁻⁵ × distance + sampling interval). Thirteen adjustable pulse widths (5 ns–20480 ns), combined with 0.125 m–8 m sampling resolution, accommodate both short-distance high-resolution and long-distance high-dynamic-range requirements.

Measurement duration is selectable from 5 seconds to 3 minutes — a 5-second quick scan to isolate fault zones, or a 3-minute deep averaging pass for precise data — satisfying the full range of scenarios from emergency repair to acceptance testing.

Portable and Rugged: Built for All-Day Field Operations

The FA8000 weighs just 1.784 kg with dimensions of 263 × 75 × 203 mm, featuring a 7-inch touchscreen (1024 × 600) for intuitive operation. The lithium battery provides over 8 hours of continuous operation. Operating temperature ranges from −10 to 50 °C, with storage temperature from −40 to 70 °C, ensuring reliable performance in demanding outdoor environments. Trace storage via SD card (≥8 GB) supports over 10,000 test records. The product is backed by an 18-month warranty.
